X Roofing is a multi-disciplined building envelope contractor, able to take projects from an outline design concept through to a finished installation constructed to the highest standards. We work with the construction industry’s leading main contractors and high-profile clients. Over time we have developed an impressive award-winning project portfolio. 

Company activities are managed from the head office at Staines upon Thames, where most of the fifty permanent staff are based. Workshop and storage facilities are sited adjacent to the Staines office. We maintain a satellite office in Darlington and the Isle of Wight. Design and technical consultation is carried out from Staines and Darlington. Each of the companies under the X banner has access to drawing office services and to specialist fabrication facilities. Significantly all of our design is undertaken in-house therefore providing our clients with an integrated design and detailing service. X Roofing is regularly asked to construct mockup installations for appearance, weather, fire and acoustic assessment. Main contractors are supported by the estimating department with the reliable return of detailed and accurate tenders. Additionally, the estimators contribute to the technical consultation service provided by the company by giving budget and value engineering advice where required. Secured projects are managed either by permanently site based managers or by visiting contract managers. Support services for the front-line managers are provided from the Head Office by a dedicated team of document administrators, procurement managers, surveyors and ancillary staff. The Health and Safety department reviews every project and produces risk assessments and method statements together with operation and maintenance documentation. The company accident record and the National Awards that this department regularly receives is evidence of the seriousness with which this aspect of our business is viewed by all personnel. The collective experience of the two hundred and fifty tradesmen employed across the four companies is seen by X Roofing as its most highly prized asset and is a major contributor to the successful execution of the work that the companies undertake.

To devise and oversee the organisational implementation to enable the company to deliver compliant BIM level 2 projects to a consistent level. This will comprise development, preparation and implementation of standards, templates and processes, liaising with and across the various departments within the business all with a goal to securing ISO19650 certification for the organisation. To identify departmental and individual training needs and requirements before arranging
any requisite training sessions. To monitor, oversee and audit the various department team members to ensure compliance with the agreed standards, processes and templates set down.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

• Have an in-depth knowledge of the ISO19650 and the requirements thereof.

• Development, preparation and implementation of standards, templates and processes, liaising with and across the various departments within the business all with a goal to securing ISO19650 certification for the organisation. This would include core documentation e.g., EIR’s, BEP’s, RACI, TIDP etc.

• Lead and manage the development, implementation, and production of BIM models and associated digital design technologies across multiple projects.

• Identify departmental and individual training needs and requirements before arranging any requisite training sessions.

• Reviewing project BEP’s and TIDP’s to guide the project team’s decision making process in terms of commercial and operational implementation.

• Collaborate closely with project teams to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise in BIM-related matters.

• Oversee the coordination, integration, and clash detection of various building systems within the BIM environment.

• Provide training and support to project teams to promote the adoption and effective use of BIM technologies.

• Manage BIM & CAD teams and demonstrate a high-level working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage from minor to major design projects ensuring compliance with RFL standards and templates.

• Demonstrate knowledge of building façade design and experience in BIM coordination and collaboration across BIM departments. This should Include all aspects of roofing, cladding and rainscreen construction solutions.

• Communicate the aspirations and principles of BIM across departments.

• ???????Attend internal and external (client) project team meetings as required on a project-by-project basis. These will be a combination of in person and remote meetings.

• Manage 3rd party subcontractors tasked with modelling ensuring compliance with RFL standards and templates.

• · Oversee the day-to-day activities of BIM modelling (both internal and external requirements).

• · Resolution of BIM-related issues across various stakeholder networks.

• · Day-to-day troubleshooting and team coordination.

• Work with the Design Director and Quality Manager to continuously improve the processes and improve efficiency across the business.

You will have an HNC or equivalent, ideally in a design related subject. Have demonstrable experience as a BIM Lead / Manager in a related sector of the
industry.

You will be computer literate and competent using the latest editions of Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks together with commonly used CDE’s (Aconex, Viewpoint / 4Projects, Asite, Procure and Kahua) whilst being capable of producing LOD / LOI 5 models. You will have high standards of numeracy, oral and written communication skills
and be able to demonstrate a capability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively and on own initiative.

You will be someone who takes ownership for their work and be able to represent the company's interests.

As X Roofing specialise in all aspects of building facades, experience in the following systems will be advantageous:

• Flat roofing – Single Ply, Hot Melt, Cold applied & Felt waterproofing.

• Traditional Hard metal (Fully supported) roofing & cladding Inc shingles such as Copper, Zinc and lead.

• Traditional Slating & Tiling both on timber & tile support substrates

• Industrial roofing – Aluminium standing seam & composite panels

• All aspects of cladding – Composite panels, twin skin, rainscreen constructions, HPL, fibre cement, CWCT.
