My client is is a leading drylining company based near Eastbourne, known for delivering high-quality interior and exterior solutions across various construction projects. Our expertise spans dry-lining, SFS, partitioning, suspended ceilings, plastering, floor screeding, external rendering, and firestopping. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Estimator to join our team and play a key role in our success.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

Pricing of supply & fix Tenders, from inception to submission, both on a Lump Sum basis & Bills of Quantities. To include all of our trade activities; Dry-Lining, SFS, Partitioning & Suspended Ceilings, Plastering, Floor Screeding, External Rendering & Firestopping.
Undertaking take-off’s & building-up supply & fix unit rates using our onscreen Estimating software (Chalkstring).
Ascertaining Value Engineering opportunities & providing cost savings as part of Tender returns.
Liasing with Clients, forming positive working relationships.
Raising technical & scope queries through the Tender process.
Seeking out new Tender opportunities.
Tendering material supply with our distribution network of suppliers.
Chasing up feedback to Tenders issued.
Attending Pre-Contract meetings.
Attending handover meetings with your colleagues in the live QS’ing department. Providing support to the Hepburn QS’s throughout delivery of the project.
Setting Budgets for projects acquired, including labour Target Sheets / White Cards.
Working closely with our MD, whom will sign-off all major projects Tendered.

Terms:

Full Time – Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 17.00.
Based at our East Sussex offices. Occasional working from home is open to discussion.
Salary ranging from £20k to £60k per annum, dependant on experience and capability.
Statutory holiday and bank holidays entitlement.
Company vehicle – subject to negotiation of overall package.
Private healthcare – subject to negotiation of overall package.
Immediate start available.

EXPERIENCE IN THE DRY-LINING INDUSTRY IS PREFFERENTIAL BUT NOT WHOLLY CRITICAL

About the Candidate

About You:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional with experience in estimation, preferably within the dry-lining or broader construction industry. You should be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Attributes:

Prior experience in the dry-lining industry is preferred but not essential.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to conduct accurate take-offs and cost estimations.
Familiarity with estimating software (experience with Chalkstring is a bonus).
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for engaging with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Ability to identify value engineering opportunities and provide innovative cost-saving solutions.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
