Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Hounslow office. The successful candidate will support our Quantity Surveying team in cost management, procurement, and project coordination, contributing to the successful delivery of interior fit-out and refurbishment projects.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cost Management:
    • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
    • Monitor project costs and identify variances.
    • Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
  2. Procurement:
    • Manage procurement processes, including preparing and issuing subcontractor packages.
    • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations; assist in awarding contracts.
    • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
  3. Project Coordination:
    • Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost efficiency and on-budget delivery.
    • Maintain accurate records of project documentation and correspondence.
    • Provide administrative support for meetings, including preparing reports and updates.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and industry standards.
    • Identify and manage potential project risks.
  5. Other Duties:
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Assist in other Quantity Surveying or project-related tasks as required.

About the Candidate

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Educational Background:
    • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Membership or working towards membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS or CIOB) is an advantage.
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years in a similar role within the construction or interiors industry is preferred.
    • Familiarity with interior fit-outs or refurbishment projects is advantageous.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
    • Basic knowledge of Quantity Surveying software is a plus.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proactive and organized approach to work.
