Estimator

As a Commercial Estimator, you’ll play a key role in analyzing plans and specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring competitive bids. You’ll collaborate with project teams, vendors, and clients to deliver accurate, timely, and profitable project proposals.

• Estimate Development:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare detailed cost estimates for drywall, framing, and acoustical scopes.
  • Perform material takeoffs, labor cost calculations, and compile bid breakdowns.
  • Manage the pricing process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all bids.

• Bid Coordination:

  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walk-throughs.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes.
  • Prepare competitive, comprehensive bid proposals and submit on deadline.

• Collaboration & Communication:

  • Partner with internal project managers and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project requirements.
  • Provide value-engineering ideas and alternatives to meet client needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with GCs, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Documentation:

  • Maintain organized records of cost histories, bid data, and proposal details.
  • Deliver project handover reports and ensure alignment with company targets.

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably within drywall, framing, or acoustical trades.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam).
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and materials.
  • Ability to analyze data, manage multiple bids, and meet deadlines.
