Estimator

Thoroughly review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other contract documents to understand the full scope of work.

Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for all phases of construction

Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotations, ensuring they meet project requirements and are competitively priced.

Prepare comprehensive bid packages, including detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data to improve estimating accuracy.

Identify and analyze potential risks and opportunities associated with project bids.

Collaborate effectively with project managers, superintendents, and other team members during the pre-construction and bidding process.

Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information.

Assist with value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving alternatives.

Present and explain estimates to internal management and, when required, to clients.

Maintain organized and accurate estimating files and documentation.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and cost-saving strategies.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the estimating process.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Minimum of three years of experience in commercial construction estimating.

Proven ability to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of commercial projects.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes.

Proficiency in using estimating software (e.g., Sage Timberline, PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu).

Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Familiarity with the Charlotte and surrounding construction market is a plus.
