The Lead Technician will oversee both the physical and virtual infrastructure of the organization and its facilities. This role will champion data center best practices and industry standards, integrating them into processes and procedures wherever applicable.

Support and coordinate all scheduled data center MACs (Moves, Adds, and Changes) based on the established DCIT event calendar.

Implement cable work order (CWO) MACs, conduct testing and certification, and assist in creating LV project BOM (Bill of Materials) and scope documents.

Perform asset audits and manage daily error logs.

Facilitate equipment installation MACs, including device labeling, power connectivity, LV cable connectivity, and proper cable management.

Provide smart-hands assistance as needed.

Maintain a secure and safe environment within the GPN data center, reporting any violations to DCIT immediately.

Maintain clear and detailed documentation for asset installation layouts, cable patch matrices, labeling standards, and more.

Oversee the secure hard drive (HDD) bin and log, ensuring compliance with retention practices and timely reporting to DCIT as necessary.

Manage ticketing and service calls.

Demonstrate proficiency with computer productivity tools such as MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.), testing applications, and DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools.

Coordinate equipment/material receiving, shipping, and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processing when required.

Perform general cleaning duties, including raised floor maintenance, cabinet/rack exterior surfaces, workbenches, and other areas on a weekly basis.

Troubleshoot Layer-1 cable plant issues.

Manage networking, storage, and general power distribution systems.

Develop, document, and monitor performance measures and processes to ensure audit and operational compliance with data center best practices, ISO 27001/9001, and TIA/EIA-942 certifications.

Support the development and adherence to standard and emergency operating procedures for the data center.

Ensure maintenance schedules align with industry best practices and are reviewed annually.

Provide regular status reports on data center service availability, performance, and capacity utilization as required.
