A leading construction firm in New York is seeking an experienced and skilled Drywall Project Manager to oversee and manage drywall operations. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who excels in leadership, project coordination, and quality assurance.

Job Summary

The Drywall Project Manager will be responsible for managing drywall installation projects from initiation to completion. This includes ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in drywall systems and construction management, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee drywall installation projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project efficiency.

  • Monitor compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and building codes.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead and coordinate site supervisors and drywall crews.

  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, safety, and quality.

  • Address on-site challenges and provide technical guidance as needed.

• Budgeting & Procurement:

  • Coordinate material procurement to ensure timely delivery.

  • Track project expenses, forecast costs, and maintain budgetary controls.

  • Manage invoices, change orders, and subcontractor agreements related to drywall scope.

• Quality Control:

  • Oversee the installation process to ensure a high-quality finish.

  • Conduct inspections and quality control reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

• Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drywall-related matters.

  • Provide progress updates to clients, architects, and general contractors.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

• Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, contracts, and logs.

  • Prepare detailed project reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience managing drywall projects, preferably in commercial or high-end residential construction.

  • Proven success in delivering drywall projects within budget and timelines.

• Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.

• Skills:

  • Expertise in drywall systems, materials, and installation processes.

  • Strong project management skills and familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Certifications:

  • OSHA 30 Certification required.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
