About the Client

My client are a large electrical contractor with over 7 offices in the states and operate across the whole of Florida focusing on full delivery of commercial electrical projects on schools, medical facilities, offices and high-rise condos. 

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and implement detailed project plans, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Team Leadership & Management: Lead and manage project teams, including subcontractors and vendors. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control. Identify and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met. Proactively identify and address any schedule delays.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement risk management plans.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and complies with all applicable codes and regulations. Conduct regular inspections to identify and correct any deficiencies.  
  • Safety Management: Enforce all company and OSHA safety regulations on the job site. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Client Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, and engineers, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Subcontractor Management: Manage the selection, bidding, and performance of subcontractors. Ensure subcontractors meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Contract Administration: Manage project contracts, including change orders, payment applications, and closeout documentation.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise on the job site.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.

About the Candidate

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.  
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficient in project management software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification preferred.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Experience with delivering commercial projects on schools,
