Purpose of the Role
The Quantity Surveyor
will be responsible for managing project costs, ensuring profitability, and maintaining high standards of quality across projects. You will work closely with project teams and clients to ensure financial goals are achieved while building and maintaining strong relationships.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Growth

Identify and communicate project risks and opportunities to effectively manage client expectations.

Develop and maintain strategic relationships with clients to promote repeat business and drive growth.
Profit

Prepare and submit compliant applications for payment to maximise cash flow.

Formalise and manage project CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), identifying risks and opportunities to enhance project profitability.

Manage costs effectively, including labour, materials, and plant, to ensure budgets are met.

Work with project leads to assess the commercial impact of project decisions.

Value additional works and changes, ensuring profitability is maximised.

Process operative wages in line with agreed project rates, ensuring additional works and dayworks are recovered, and defect costs are mitigated.

Support scheduling of material and labour values to improve project efficiency.

Quality

Uphold the highest standards of quality, working within the company’s business management systems (BMS).

Raise improvement ideas and ensure compliance with quality standards during client meetings.

Assess operative wages and work quality, ensuring all installations meet compliance requirements.

Ensure defective works are effectively managed from a commercial perspective.
