About the Client

My client is a leading commercial concrete contractor specializing in large-scale concrete packages for high-rise buildings. With a commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, we have established a strong reputation in the industry.

They are currently looking for an experienced construction safety professional to lead their safety team.

The Safety Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs for high-rise construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and the unique safety challenges associated with high-rise construction.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate hazards.

  • Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Conduct safety training programs for all employees, including job-specific hazards, emergency procedures, and first aid.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local, state, and federal safety standards.

  • Collaborate with project management and field operations to integrate safety into all phases of construction.

  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including fall protection, scaffolding, and crane operations.

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols.

  • Work closely with subcontractors to ensure their compliance with safety standards.

  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and encourage a proactive approach to safety.

About the Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering, construction management, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in construction safety, with a focus on high-rise projects.

  • OSHA 30-hour and 500-hour certifications.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Experience with safety software and data analysis.
