About the Client

I’m currently partnering with a leading specialist contractor in the commercial interiors sector. Known for delivering high-quality drylining and joinery projects across Central London, this company has built a strong reputation for precision, innovation, and client satisfaction.
Due to a strong pipeline of exciting projects, they’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Senior QS to manage the commercial aspects of drylining and joinery fit-out projects. You’ll play a key role in cost management, project profitability, and strategic delivery.
Experience in drylining, joinery, or both is essential.
 
  • Cost Management:
    • Manage financial and contractual aspects of multiple drylining and joinery projects.
    • Prepare cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
    • Lead procurement processes for subcontractors, materials, and suppliers, ensuring value for money.
  • Commercial Leadership:
    • Provide accurate commercial advice to project teams, with a focus on drylining and joinery elements.
    • Monitor project costs, resolve issues, and ensure profit margins are met.
    • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Client and Stakeholder Management:
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
      • Attend project meetings, providing updates on project costs, forecasts, and risks.
      • Ensure commercial objectives align with client expectations and project delivery.
      • Team Contribution:
        • Mentor junior QS team members, offering guidance specific to drylining and joinery scopes.
        • Support the continuous improvement of commercial processes and project efficiencies.

          About the Candidate

          • Experience & Expertise:

            • 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience, ideally in drylining and/or joinery commercial fit-out projects.
            • Proven track record managing projects valued between £1m - £10m.
            • Strong understanding of JCT and Design & Build contracts.

          • Technical Skills:

            • Expertise in cost control, procurement, and contract management within drylining and joinery.
            • Proficiency in industry-standard QS tools and software.

            • Personal Attributes:

              • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
              • Proactive and solution-focused, with a keen eye for detail.
              • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing abilities.
